Alarms
Gray Electric provides custom installation and service of many security and fire alarms around the area for residential and commercial customers. Whether you need an alarm that is monitored or just localized only, we can provide the service you need. We offer UL approved, 24/7/365 monitoring. We also offer customer owned alarms or leased alarms and can customize a program to fit your budgetary needs.
What’s the difference between a customer-owned and leased alarm? A customer owned alarm is an alarm that is purchased up front and all installation and equipment is paid for at the time of installation. These alarms can be monitored or localized only. A leased alarm is installed for much less and the equipment is owned by Gray Electric and leased to the customer and includes the monitoring fees within the monthly lease payment. Most customers choose to lease their alarm as the initial installation costs much less and the monthly payments are very affordable. Every proposal we give for a burglar alarm system includes options for both.

Generators
We sell and install generator back-up systems and transfer switches. There are 2 basic legal/safe ways to provide generator back-up power to your home or business, manual or automatic. Either of these is generally less expensive to install during the new construction rough-in phase of a building, but is most commonly done after the building or home is built. No matter when you install it, or which type of system you install, you will be adding great value to your property as well as being able to maintain the necessities of life, like running water, heat and more!
Manual Systems:
This is done with the use of a manual transfer switch and a portable generator. We sell Briggs & Stratton portable generators. There are several options available within a manual system and it depends on how your electrical system is set up and what your budget allows, as to what generator and transfer switch will best suit your needs. We have ways of providing back-up power to a few essential circuits as well as to the entire home or building. We’d be more than happy to check out your system and discuss your needs in order to safely provide your home or building with generator back-up power.
Automatic Systems:
This is done with the use of an automatic transfer switch and home standby generator that is permanently installed, much like an air conditioning unit. The generator sits on a pad, outside the home or building and is fueled by propane or natural gas. These systems are very user friendly and provide quick back-up power to the home or building, when utility power goes out. In most cases, you’re only without power for 20-30 seconds and that’s pretty nice! We offer 2 major brands of home standby generators to chose from, Kohler and Briggs & Stratton. Again, let us take a look at your project and provide you with a free estimate to install a generator back-up system to your home or business.
